Section 1 - Brokerage Firms (please go to next section if this is not a concern)
First, to invest in securities such as the ones we are listing (on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), American Stock Exchange (AMEX), NASDAQ, mutual funds, etc., you will need to establish a brokerage account. There are a multitude of brokerage firms, and many are nationally ranked and well regulated. To obtain a full listing of those available, just enter a search under “brokerage firms” on your web browser and you will be provided with numerous choices. Many will allow you to begin with as little as $500 in investable funds. Below, we recommend 5 popular brokerage firms for your information.
We do recommend an Internet discount broker, as they offer both deep discounts to Internet traded securities (from hereon, the term securities will refer to stocks, bonds, ETFs and mutual funds) as well as live call-in orders to brokers. Also, most allow you to open an account directly online, thereby eliminating the need to go to an office.
We made five recommendations, arranged from the top which will offer the greatest assistance to the last, offering the least (although these offer some of the lowest brokerage fees). We recommend that if your new to trading and/or are unfamiliar with trading techniques, that you chose one of the top choices since these have customer service departments which are more apt to provide you with ample and thorough trading information when needed. Although we will give basic terms, understanding and techniques used for trading in each portfolio, it is sometimes relieving to know you can call on someone to help you through a trade that’s baffling-especially if you your right in the middle of one. Also dependant on your choice will be the frequency of your trades. If you trade less than 10 securities monthly, than a more service orientated brokerage firm will suffice and should be preferred. Again, this may not be true if you are a seasoned trader and appreciate some deep discount commissions offered by our fifth choice brokerage firm.

Section 2 - Start-Up
After you sign of for one of our particular service(s), you should receive an email from us regarding the specific service you signed up for. It is important that you receive our first email, as it will contain your special user code for you to be able to enter the specific Portfolio section you signed up for. If you do not receive these emails, it may mean your Internet mail service is blocking our emails (Earthlink and Yahoo are the worst), probably because they do not see our address on your friends or safe list. If you don’t receive an email from us within 24 hours, look in your spam/junk folder. If there, select it and mark it as "Not Spam". Another method would be to send us an email through the customer service link specific to your Portfolio. Please list the Subject field as “TEST”.
Besides receiving your special user code, we will email you when any changes occur to your portfolio choices. We realize that one cannot always follow a website advisory 24/7 (especially if you have a full-time job), therefore, it is imperative again that we can successfully email you with any changes that occur in the portfolio. For this reason it is CRITICAL you safe -list us now by adding us to your address book.
